Operating system installation

Instances in Artnet.Cloud are virtualized in full virtualization mode which means that your server resources are use only by you. It means also that your virtual server acts like independent computer on virtualized hardware so you can install nearly any operating system.

Installing operating system is done by booting your instance from installation image of choosen operating system. You have access to you virtual machine from BIOS initialization stage and then you can full controll over installation process which is identicall as on any other computer. This allow you to use your administration skills to configure your operating system as you like and also allow you to use rescue-modes from installation image of your OS.

OS installation configuration

To begin installation or enable rescue-mode you have to change boot mode of your server. Log in to Customer Panel, go to main view of cloud services and on the list of instances click “Configuration” icon for one of the servers.

If you have no operating system yet or it is not configured to interpret such signal correctly it will not work. In this case it is better to select the secound option. In other case, if you have OS installed, first option can save you from HDD-integrity and data loss problems.
